Privacy Policy

In short
COSMIC AUDIO LAB DOES NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL DATA, AND SHIPS NO ANALYTICS, TRACKING OR ADVERTISING IN ANY PRODUCT. Our software runs on Your own device and Your work never leaves it. The one exception is licensing: Klaravo and Dynamic Strip are licensed through Moonbase, so activating or deactivating a licence contacts Moonbase’s servers. Section 5 sets out exactly what is sent.
This Policy applies to every Cosmic Audio Lab product unless that product ships with its own privacy notice. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
1. SCOPE
1.1 This Policy explains how Cosmic Audio Lab LLC handles information in connection with its software. It applies to our audio plug-ins in VST3, AU and AAX formats, our desktop applications for macOS and Windows, and our mobile apps and games for iOS, iPadOS and Android, including Glitchfinity and DriftTone.
1.2 It applies however You obtained the Software, whether directly from us, from the Apple App Store, or from Google Play.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 We operate no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Our Software has no Cosmic Audio Lab account and no sign-in to us.
2.2 From within the Software we do not collect Your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, usage data, audio, or any other personal information. Where a product is licensed through Moonbase, licence activation transmits the information described in Section 5.
2.3 We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles, and we do not sell personal information.
3. YOUR WORK STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
3.1 Everything our Software produces belongs to You and remains with You. Audio You process, presets You save, projects You build, settings You change and game progress You make are stored locally on Your own device.
3.2 None of it is uploaded, mirrored, or visible to us at any time.
4. NETWORK USE
4.1 Our Software is built to work offline, and most of our products make no network connections at all. Glitchfinity does not even hold the Android internet permission, which makes it technically incapable of sending anything off Your device.
4.2 Where a product offers a feature that is explicitly about networking, that feature operates only between Your own devices. The optional Cast function in DriftTone streams its generated audio over Your local network to another of Your own machines running DriftTone. That audio never leaves Your local network, is never routed through any server of ours, and is never sent to any third party. The feature is inactive unless You turn it on.
4.3 We do not operate telemetry, analytics, crash reporting or automatic updates in any shipped product. Licence activation is the only outbound connection our plug-ins make, and it is made to Moonbase rather than to us, as described in Section 5.
5. LICENSING AND PURCHASES
5.1 Klaravo and Dynamic Strip are sold and licensed through Moonbase (Moonbase AS in Norway and Moonbase LLC in Wyoming). Activating, deactivating or refreshing a licence contacts Moonbase’s servers over the internet.
5.2 On activation the Software sends Your licence key, the product and version, and a device fingerprint to Moonbase. That fingerprint is a SHA-256 hash of hardware identifiers taken from Your machine, such as the platform UUID on macOS; the underlying identifiers themselves are not transmitted. Moonbase also records the IP address of the activation request in order to enforce device limits and prevent abuse.
5.3 Once issued, Your licence is a signed token that the Software verifies on Your own device using a public key, so ordinary day-to-day use of the plug-in does not require an internet connection.
5.4 Moonbase holds the account and purchase information attached to Your licence, which may include Your name, email address and billing address, under its own privacy policy published at moonbase.sh/privacy-policy. Moonbase stores that data in AWS data centres in Ireland.
5.5 We receive from Moonbase only what is needed to issue and support Your licence, typically Your email address and an order reference.
5.6 We never receive or store Your full payment card details. Payments are handled by the payment gateways Moonbase integrates with, under their own policies.
5.7 Products distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, including Glitchfinity and DriftTone, do not use Moonbase licensing and make no activation connection.
6. THIRD PARTIES
6.1 Our Software contains no third-party advertising, analytics, attribution or tracking SDKs of any kind.
6.2 We do not share Your data for advertising and we do not sell it. The only third party built into our software is Moonbase, which provides licensing for Klaravo and Dynamic Strip as described in Section 5.
7. APP STORES
7.1 When You install our apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple and Google may independently collect information about the installation, any purchase, and optional crash reporting, under their own policies and outside our control.
7.2 Any such information reaches us only in aggregate, non-identifiable form. Their respective privacy policies govern that data.
8. SUPPORT CORRESPONDENCE
8.1 If You email us for support, we receive Your message and Your email address, and we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to assist You and to keep a record of the issue.
8.2 We do not add You to any mailing list and we do not pass Your details to anyone.
9. CHILDREN
9.1 Our Software collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
9.2 Our games contain no advertising, no in-app purchases, no chat and no social features, so there is no mechanism by which a child’s information could be gathered or exposed.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
10.1 Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give You the right to access, correct or delete the personal data a company holds about You, and to know whether it is sold.
10.2 We ourselves hold little beyond support correspondence and, for licensed products, the order details Moonbase passes to us. Account, purchase and activation data held by Moonbase is subject to its own policy, and requests about that data should be directed to Moonbase; write to us and we will help. If You have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, write to us and we will remove it.
10.3 We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
11.1 If this Policy changes, we will post the updated version at this address and revise the effective date shown above.
